Alexander Y. McFerran

Alex McFerran focuses on financial services and finance positions across industries.  Prior to joining Conley & Company, he held senior management positions in the financial and business services sectors in Boston and New York.

Before entering executive search, Alex worked as an Area Managing Partner and ran the Boston office of Tatum CFO Partners, LLP.  Previously he had been a Managing Director at IBS, Inc., a Boston investment bank that invested in and traded debt in the international capital markets.

In the mid-80's to early 90's, he worked at Security Pacific Bank, then the fifth largest US bank, now merged into Bank of America. There he rose to become an Executive Vice President and the Senior Officer for Corporate Finance and Banking, responsible for 350 corporate finance and investment banking professionals in the US, Canada, and Europe.

Prior to that, Alex was a Citibank Vice President where he headed the syndicated loans desk and was a pioneer in selling corporate loans. Earlier he managed the insurance services department and product sales for several securities related services. He also worked at The Bank of New York, in the City of New York government (when John Lindsay was Mayor), and at several consulting firms.

Mr. McFerran graduated from Princeton University and holds a Master’s degree from Wesleyan University. He is currently on the board of several not-for-profits and has served in the past on corporate boards in the US and Canada as well.
